American Airways plans to drop service to 4 U.S. cities in September, together with Dubuque, Iowa, which is able to lose scheduled business air service altogether.

The Fort Value-based service blamed the service cuts on a scarcity of regional pilots. American, United Airways and Delta Air Traces have every scaled again service between some smaller cities and their hubs, citing a scarcity of aviators.

The 4 cities — Toledo, Ohio; Islip, N.Y.; Ithaca, N.Y., and Dubuque — will every lose service from American on Sept. 7, after Labor Day.

The airports have been served by American Airways’ regional airline subsidiaries.
